10 Gallon Milk Cans

5 and 10 gallon cans were used to transport milk from dairy farms to flag stops on rural rail routes where is was picked up by the morning Milk Train and hauled to creameries were it was turned into various dairy products.  Milk cans were hauled by wagon or truck (and in the winter by sled) until the advent of specialize bulk tank trucks in the late 1960's.

Our 10 Gallon Milk cans are pewter castings, unpainted, 6 per package.
